restaurants for you

the food industry is one that is easy to break and be a part of. my family has been in this business for years now and i can say that it does pay out a lot. but if you're a newcomer to this type of business, be aware that because it's easy to get in to this industry, it means you always have a lot of competition. there are fast food chains popping out here and there, buffets are everywhere too! catching your target market will be difficult. but just so you can make some fast cash before
having your own restaurant, try cooking for your friends and relatives first. catering can be fun, you know. here, you can experience a little of what it is like to have a restaurant; you still need to deliver food to those who are hungry. gather their thoughts, suggestions, and brainstorm on them.
and if you think you're ready to handle the business, open your restaurant for everyone to enjoy! :)
or for now, find the restaurant nearest to you and get some ideas from the staff or from the manager.

a must have for business persons

i was at my parents' office and i saw this frame hanging on the wall. its picture was a handshake and the caption written across it says "if we don't take care of the customer, somebody else will." very true, isn't it?
it's the number one rule in business.
the line speaks the truth.it's a simple statement with clarity and direction.

i actually googled it an found several other designs that has the statement like this one on the left. i think that it's an effective accessory to hang around one's office to motivate and to ensure that quality service be given to customers. service is after all, very important.

there are other frames with other lines or statements that could be used to remind and to motivate the business person or the employees. for such kind of frames, you can purchase some on this page.

how to start your own business

Ever thought about starting your own business yet not know how? Don’t worry. It happens to a good number of people. Big or small business persons encounter such a problem and they break it down into pieces to conquer the problem one step at a time. I do believe that there are many things to consider when starting a business and these factors are the very same ones a business person must keep in mind throughout the life of the business they own and manage.

I am a business student and have studied the ins and outs of my field for about four years now. I have practiced some of the theories in my life as a student and as a small time business woman. And so, I would like to share to my readers what I’ve learned. Perhaps, you might learn from me and can decide to start your own business, be it small time or not.
The first thing to consider if you are planning to start a business is your financial capacity. Are the resources enough for the business you want? If so, then you can now begin to plan for the business that you wish to have.
It is necessary that a study must be conducted. For some, this is very costly. Truth is, it is. Some companies opt to hire a researcher or an analyst to perform the study and a researcher’s compensation fee could certainly be financially draining. But again, you need not worry. You can perform the study with limited help. What you need to keep in mind is simply the SWOT. That is short for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats of the business you want to put up and run for as long as you want.
Yes, you have to point out the strong points of your business. What are the advantages which your business has? Think of an edge. This is an internal study of your business and your strengths could be anything you can find within your establishment. It could be your facilities, your people, your effectiveness, and efficiency. List everything you can find. You’ll find it very satisfying.
But most certainly, all business are not made up of purely strengths. The biggest companies that seem to be all powerful and are front liners of their respective industries also hold weaknesses and if these weak points are not given any attention, then the business has a high possibility of crumbling into pieces until nothing is left of it. So like your strengths, list down your company’s weak points. This is also an internal study and the weaknesses usually revolve around your people and your finances. What percentage is your turn-over rate? Are the attitudes your employees display contribute much to the welfare of the company? Do you have unions that strongly bang on your office door with their demands that just seem all too much for the organization to give? How long does it take for a client to pay his or her debts? Are your assets liquid? Like your strengths, list every weakness you can find and don’t be discouraged.
The second half of the study concerns the external environment of the business. Ask the question; “what’s in it for me?” but of course, referring to your business. Some people jump in the business world without really thinking of what they can gain from it. that of course, isn’t a smart thing to do. Opportunities for a business are important. Just like how an individual looks for a job opportunity to generate money to spend for himself or herself. A business needs all the opportunities it can get to produce an income that would keep the business running. but if there are opportunities for a business, then there are also threats. To manage your business, you must be mindful of the threats. Threats doesn’t entirely mean your competitors. Since this is a study of your business’ external environment, then you must also consider the location of your business. Is your business easily accessible to your target market? When it rains, does your area easily flood preventing customers from coming and thus, lose an opportunity to transact business? Threats could be plentiful so keep them in tabs. You must know if it weighs more than the opportunities.
Once you know your SWOT, then things begin to look clear and easy to handle. Deciding for your business no longer seems to be a heavy task since you already know the basic things. Be organized, it helps too.
So good luck if you plan to start your business. I hope I was able to help.

i'm walking away from all the troubles of my life

i'm walking away from all the troubles of my life, that's a line from a craig david song. and i used that line to describe myself in this picture taken by my cousin. although this picture was poorly taken, i was struck by it recently. this was when i was goofing around with my friends at the basketball court on new year's day and i saw it along with the other pictures of people, of my friends and others who i shared emotions with. but some have gone, walked away and left me behind. i can't say that i was never hurt by them but i also can't say that i could let the pain stay when they, even when loved couldn't stay.
so i'm walking away, and it's high time that i do. to that one person who broke my heart and made me doubt myself in a lot of ways, i'm sorry for thought broadcasting, but i just have to say that i'm really happier now that you're gone. i'm on a new page of my life and i'm experiencing a lot of new things, a lot more thrills, and especially a lot more love from everyone. it's a happy life.

how to turn your trash into cash

since my sister moved to a new residence, we have been cleaning up our house and have
discovered that we have a lot of trash or more known to my parents as old precious things.
well, yes, some of them are like our first toy, dress, plate, etcetera.
but there were just thingsthere that were really of no use to us or of no value to us at all.
pirated cds, (hahah, thank you ipods!) are just few of the things i discovered
and thought of throwing out. but wait a sec, it's a good thing i just didn't
immediately toss them out. there are a number of people who buy your trash from you and they do it to recycle, to save, and to even earn from it. my neighbor bought our old newspapers and
my mom was very generous enough to let me keep the money from it. i'm about to do some shopping because of it and with that, i guess you can tell that the value i got from it wasn't just lunch money at all. hehe, it's enough to buy me a few pieces of the things that delight me best. haha. so turn your trash into cash and not only will you be happy from

getting some money out of it, but you'll also be able to help save the world in your own little way. :)

for davaoenos, the sm city mall, just one of the malls in davao city holds a monthly
turn your trash into cash
event. the next date for this is on may 5.
you should check it out.

while shopping at the mall

this me with my niece at the children's department. we were looking around for some hair accessories with my sister. near it was a stand of eyeglasses for little kids. it didn't have any grades so it was just suitable for anyone or for any kid who would like to wear them for fashion, i guess.
but my five year old niece already has astigmatism and is about to change her glasses for a new pair. i grabbed one that looks like mine, gave it to her to wear and i just took a shot. haha, i think it's cute and is a nice thing to post as a first entry in my new blog! :)
